August 24 Update
Ouch.
This week I started to feel the aches and pains of 6-day a week training. I had to battle a muscle spasm attack in my back that locked up my neck. I've been hobbling around with hamstrings that have been screaming all week. And to wrap up the week, it's a sore low back that's got me cringing and bingeing on ibuprofin.
The only good news is that I was expecting this phase. So I made my trip to see Elisia, my massage therapist. (She's amazing. More about her later.)
I was rolling on this several times a day:
And I even drove to and from the office with a lacrosse ball stuck between the seat and my lower back. It worked great.
The point is, I am in my mid-40s. And, while I'm planning to do something exceptional, only a fool would approach this without expecting the aches and pains of progress.
Now, if you'll excuse me, there's an ice pack with my name on it.
